Presentation
What is an architect? Through accounts and interviews with Le Corbusier, pupils explore the many facets of this profession: working conditions, relationships with clients, spatial planning, choice of materials… They are encouraged to reflect on how the profession has evolved from the early 20th century to the present day.
Key concepts:
- Analysing the historical and social role of written texts to understand an architect’s thinking and practice
- Describe how an architectural space organises social life
- Calculate lengths, areas and volumes based on on-site measurements
