A hanging garden

You don't need to be an acrobat to visit the villa's hanging garden, just head for the second floor !

With Le Corbusier, the roof is no longer just protection, but a new living space. On the villa's flat roof, invisible from the outside, the architect creates a true hanging garden that conceals many secrets...

It distributes light abundantly in the living room, but also to the ramp, the first-floor landing and, of course, the boudoir. It is also a place for entertaining and relaxing, with its fixed table and semi-open gazebo providing shelter from the elements.

Its elevated position, with an opening in the extension of the banded window, makes it a place to contemplate both the architecture of the villa and the surrounding nature. Let's not forget that it's also a garden "safe from unhealthy, damp grass", with planters and a concrete paving floor with earth joints for lines of grass to grow on !

This hanging garden continues with a solarium, open to the sky but protected from the prevailing winds by a curved wall like a concrete screen.

The landscape, with its view of the meandering Seine, is also featured. A rectangular opening in the wall, also known as a "hole in the wall", acts as a frame to direct the viewer's gaze.
